When the Loss Lives Within You...

The indescribable grief. Accompanied by layers of shame, fear, guilt, and depression. The ongoing question: Why did this happen? Trying your best not to blame yourself. Wanting to share your loss with the people you love, yet at the same time longing to keep it hidden.

The loss you're carrying didn't happen outside of you—it happened within your own body. Your body held the pregnancy, and your body experienced its ending. For many women, that is not only a profound emotional loss, but a deeply personal experience of death itself.

Why this Loss Feels so Overwhelming

Pregnancy loss is not only an emotional experience—it is a physiological one. Your body prepared for new life. Your hormones shifted. Your nervous system organized around pregnancy. When that pregnancy ends, your body doesn't simply forget.

Pregnancy loss is also a psychospiritual experience. Your psyche had already begun crossing the threshold from maiden to mother. When the pregnancy ended, that transition was interrupted, often leaving behind questions of meaning, identity, and death itself. For some women, the loss may also bring forward ancestral stories of pregnancy loss within their matrilineal line, deepen spiritual questions, or stir the religious and cultural narratives they carry about pregnancy, motherhood, and loss.

While there is no right way to heal after pregnancy loss or abortion, many women eventually discover a deep need to make sense of what happened. Whether your grief has been immediate or held quietly for years, healing often begins by allowing yourself to acknowledge the pregnancy, the loss, and the emotions your body has been carrying.

I support women who long to process their experience in a way that is both emotionally meaningful and deeply sacred.

Pink flower to represent love and nourishment

STEP 1

We begin by setting up a sacred space for you to share your story from the beginning of your pregnancy to it's end. Using meaningful symbols or objects that connect you to your baby, we may create a ritual that honors their life, honors your time as their mother, and supports discovering a new way to carry your relationship with your baby—one that honors your love and allows you to let go.

STEP 2

Together, we gently process the grief of your pregnancy loss while making space for the shame, guilt, despair, anger, or fear that may accompany it. We explore the deeper meaning your loss holds, restore trust in your body, and use Somatic Experiencing and body-based practices to help your nervous system process and integrate what it has been carrying.

STEP 3

You'll receive practical, holistic practices that support the nourishment and deep care of your womb. Depending on your needs, this may include guided meditations, castor oil packs, Mayan abdominal massage, herbal support, and other body-based practices that help you reconnect with your womb after loss.
